Miracle Mountain
The largest American chestnut tree I have ever seen in the woods (and ironically on Miracle Mountain). Once common and majestic now a rare and lowly tree species. Stay tuned to see if this one produces any fruit this summer. Unfortunately this area will be strip mined in the near future and this tree with all its fighting will lose the battle after all.

This quote sums up my recent experiences....
" I still fly on airplanes, which have nothing to recommend them except speed; they are inconvenient, uncomfortable, undependable, ugly, stinky, and scary. I still cut my wood with a chainsaw, which has nothing to recommend it but its speed, and has all the faults of an airplane, except it does not fly." -Wendell Berry

Be on the lookout for a potential terrorrist.....6', blonde female carrying dangerous materials
Returning from Maine last Tuesday, I was detained at the passenger security checkpoint while federal agents searched my bag. Unbeknownst to me, I had one lone bullet in my bag. Local police were called to question me as I listened to the final boarding call for my flight. The .357 bullet turned out to be one of my own..I had used this bag previously to carry ammo in. Thanks to our ever- thorough government agency this bullet will not singlehandedly fly itself through the air to hijack a commuter jet. Interestingly , this bullet had bummed a ride in my bag from Virginia with no security hold-ups. Thanks to our ever-thorough government agency, no doubt.
